Togetherness Shoot - Facoory Family - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

On Sunday I went to the Noosa Botanical Gardens with the Facoory Family and even though it looked like it would rain on us we were blessed with perfect overcast weather. We did, however, encounter a music festival which we all agreed played annoying repetitive music!
Alicia (Mum) bought her daughter Monique a Pettiskirt from EB Creations so we got some beautiful images of her in the skirt...I Love the first one of her!

Fiona's Expectations Shoot - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

On Friday I had an amasingly hilarious Expectations session with Fiona & her hubby Tom. All I can say is I loved that they were up for anything and did we come up with some awesome images because of it! I just want to thank Fiona and Tom for being the unique people that you are and letting me be silly along with you...I love your obvious love for each other and how comfortable you were to just be yourselves around the camera.
This is just a few images that we did in the studio - we did more outside - I will blog them in a few days when I have some more time! We also shot some images of Tom for his Blogs so I will share them also....so much to do, so little time!

Can't wait to meet their Baby Girl who will be born July 6th - so excited about her first shoot!

I have the "Game of Life" board game and thought that including a car with three people to represent their family would be sooo cute - in photoshop I added the text that I modelled off the box.

Tom & Fiona told me how they had seen some photos using "Scrabble" pieces and as I had that game also we spelt out the words "Baby Girl" on Fiona's Belly, plus some other one's also that I am not allowed to share!

The two series shots came from an idea for one image and we just played around with different posing & Tom's amusing facial expressions to come up with a series like you would get in a photobooth.

I love the last series - Tom should be an actor or comedian -seriously funny! I want this series blown up huge in my studio. I don't get many hubbies that are this enthusiastic to take photos so it was such a refreshing change to work with Tom & Fiona.

Twelve Dancing Princesses Experience! - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

I have a confession to make...I have an addiction to buying props for my photography studio. I like the unusual and unique...and I looooove nothing more than something girly for the little princesses that come through my studio. So I recently went on a shopping spree and bought a heap of skirts! Not just any skirts "Pettiskirts" - gorgeous, fluffy, colourful creations that are the ultimate girly-girl skirt.

I am impatient so I thought I would do a "12 Dancing Princesses" Exclusive Offer! This way I get to use them all!

For 12 lucky little girls I am offering a heavily discounted rate for a complete "Innocence Shoot" in the Studio. If you live in Brisbane and want this offer please contact me about a special location shoot.

So if you have a little princess or know of one between the age of 1 - 6 years, pass on the information. The only requirement is that you have to use one of my "pettiskirts" in the shoot. See the attached image of how gorgeous these skirts look in one of my shoots!
A child shoot like this with all the digital images is a rare thing, so to make a booking see the details below and email me.

The last two images are Example of "Fusion Prints" which are customed designed by me this is a product that no other studio offers and is Exclusively avaliable at my studio.

Expectations Shoot with Jodie - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

Finally I have the images from Jodie's Expectations shoot. Jodie is my sis-in-law and has just given birth to my first nephew "Caruso" a couple of weeks early!

For this shoot we went to North Shore - Jodie and her hubby Michael are real beach people so we wanted this shoot to capture the blueness of the ocean; plus at my request we went to a beautiful field in Bli Bli to take some photos & afterwards did a few studio shots at their house. I love the first one and the simplicity of it...her bump was really tiny!
Oh and I have to mention the absolute dedication Jodie had to getting beautiful photos - she was willing to get in the water for a few shots as the waves splashed over her in WINTER! I also got wet up to my knees but I have had to do worse for a photo! Love you Jodie!

Make-up was done by Kylie-Jane Make-up Artistry (who by the way is coming in next week for her own expectations shoot!)
I have had sooo many pregnant women lately which has been great as "Expectations" shoots are my favourites...I say keep them coming ladies.

Buderim Forest Walk - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

So after a request from the lovely Danielle I went for a walk through the Buderim Forest Walk. All I can say is that it is a beautiful place. I took my camera along because I am challenging myself take it with me everywhere and take photos of things I would not normally photograph. So the first two are random ones I took as I walked!

Now I have a story to tell...I went walking alone and when I got there I was the only person. I was at my last stop along the way (the waterfall) and I was LOVING the light...especially as it fell on the rock....and who happened to cross paths with me but a Model, seriously no joke! So I asked her if she would jump onto the rock so I could take a few frames... don't you just LOVE the way the light falls on her...I had a seriously great walk - only regret is I should have taken more of her! Thanks - wish I could mention her name but not sure how it is spelt but she is with Vox Talent Management - Thanks!

Below I just wanted to show you a few different ways I could process an image like this...love the last one - very contemporary and usual!

Taj Beginnings Shoot - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

So here is the full post on Baby Taj. All I can say is I had trouble limiting it to this many photos, he was so photogenic and was just the perfect baby and allowed me the oppurtunity to try out some new lighting techniques and props. This photoshoot was done at his home with mummy, daddy and big brother Kai which is something I do for "Beginnings" shoots as they are done so close to birth and take hours! I bring a car load of props, lighting, backdrops etc. and go to town - I warn people it will look like I am moving in! When at the end of the day I get back to my computer and images like this tumble out everyone agrees it was worth it. They are only this tiny for so short a time and before you know it they are celebrating their fourth birthday and you are crying to a stranger at your child's kindy and wondering where your baby went!

The first two images are a custom designed Birth Annoucement (front and back) these are such a beautiful idea and I can personalise them to suit with colours, text, poems, swirls, photos (anything you can think off I will do - within reason!). Actually I love them so much I will give the next person who books a "Beginnings Shoot" 20 FREE Birth Annoucements. Just mention this post!

His beautiful parents (I adore this image)

This is Taj and his big bro Kai (below). This is my favourite image only because I know how much work went into actually getting it. Working with children (especially toddlers) is hard, it requires A LOT of patience, bribery, begging, pleading, some tears (mine & the parents) and ultimately perfect timing. I love it for 2 reasons firstly it is not your normal sibling portrait and secondly Kai's expression while not happy takes my breath away. It is capturing a moment like this that makes all the hard work worthwhile!

How much am I worth?

I get enquiries all the time about my work....the hardest question I deal with everyday is "How much do you cost?". It seems like a simple enough question but people fail to see the complexity of such a simple question, they fail to see that unltimately they are asking me - "How much are you worth?" So when someone says that I am "too expensive" or more bluntly "what a rip-off!" they fail to see that they are telling me that my time, my expertise, my art and all the parts of myself that I put into what I do is not worth it! Is it any wonder I take this personally. I recently discovered a website that answers the question:

So I wanted to share this with you...click on the title above to read an illuminating article

To finish my little rant....I wanted to share one of the images from my website....this is what I do and it takes a lot to produce an image like this and it doesn't cost me 99cents.
My greatest cost for the work I produce is the time away from my family; so I can give you images of your family that you will treasure for a lifetime!

Togetherness Shoot - Jacobsen Family - Cute Kid Contest Winners!! - Sunshine Coast & Brisbane Portrait Photographer

I want to introduce our "Cute Kid Contest" Winner "Drew" and his family. We went to Dicky Beach in Caloundra to do the family photographs and their dog Ben came along to be part of the shoot. Ben was such a great dog to work with and besides getting a little bored with it he did an amasing job...This is such a gorgeous looking family so they made my job really easy.

The Beautiful Couple!

Seriously...how cute is Drew???

"Choo Choo!"
This is Drew's bid sis Sienna below she is singing the end of "Happy Birthday" to Drew as he recently celebrated his...she was so hilarious!

Above Sienna was saying "Cheese" to me each time I took a photo and this expression was so funny!
She is such a princess and loved using one of many skirts I have for little girls her age!

Kisses xxxxxx
